Virus Propagation Analysis Tool
In an effort to combat the spread of viruses and malicious software, Y-12 (part of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory complex) developed the Virus Propagation Analysis Tool (VPAT). The VPAT software kit analyzes a user’s network and then uses the network’s characteristics to determine the best way to defend against malicious software attacks, how to recognize such attacks if and when they occur, and how to quarantine the infected parts.
