Pocket Guide for Security Procedures and Protocols for Mitigating Radio Frequency Threats

The Technical Support Working Group has released the publication Security Procedures and Protocols for Mitigating Radio Frequency Threats (Radio Frequency Weapons Pocket Guide) for use by Government agencies and Industry dealing with protection of infrastructure facilities against RFW threats. This includes government facilities, electric power generation facilities, petroleum industry, communication networks, transportation industry, and banking systems.

The RFWG is a 128 page field guide that includes guidelines, definitions of the RFW threat; identification of threat devices and how they are employed; defensive tactics, techniques, and procedures; establishing controlled areas, and how to respond to an RFW attack.

The RFWG is a restricted document available to Federal, State, and local governments, and qualified industry security managers.  All ordering organizations must first be confirmed as eligible by the Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office /Technical Support Working Group/ (CTTSO/TSWG) prior to being ordered from the Government Printing Office (GPO).

After receiving a confirmation number from CTTSO/TSWG, authorized users may order the SSEG from the Government Printing Office.  GPO Cost is $55 per copy.  To order, cite GPO Stock# 008-001-00174-6.

To obtain a certification to order this document, first send an e-mail request for quantity desired to pubs@tswg.gov, and include contact name, organization name, address, and telephone number.  Security contractors must also provide similar sponsoring government agency information.  Confirmation of the order will be approved via e-mail with an approval number.  The documents can then be ordered from GPO, accompanied by a copy of the confirmation e-mail and approval number, as follows:
