Keeping Posted on the Energy Bill

May 4th, 2009

Consistent with providing the press/public with the very latest on the bipartisan energy legislation that Senate Energy is developing, we draw your attention to two new drafts posted to our web:
o      Click here to read the joint staff text regarding cybersecurity and critical electricity infrastructure.

o      Click here to read Sen. Bingaman’s draft nuclear waste title.  (This text, among others, will be marked-up on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., Dirksen 366.)

Senate Energy hopes that its up-to-the-minute communications on the energy bill are a help to you and your readers.  Our staff takes bipartisan pride in the openness and transparency that Chairman Bingaman and Ranking Republican Member Murkowski have brought to the process of producing a bill.  Mindful of your busy schedules, we recently added an Energy Bill 2009 tab on our website – one-stop shopping for legislative drafts, introduced bills and committee mark-up items.  In addition, the Chairman and Ranking Member have convened well over a dozen hearings on these topics, and our mark-ups and walk-throughs on this legislation are open to all.
