                    JULY/AUGUST 1974 REVIEW CYCLE

                    During the May/June 1974 Review Cycle, the Iowa RMP was awarded $1,096,011
                    for the budget period I/l/74-6/30/75.  Included in this award was $87,550
                    for project #59 - Pilot Arthritis Center.

                    Application:   The July 1, supplemental cop'.-inuation grant application
                    requests $173,029 for initiation of four new projects and one program
                    staff activity.  The staff activity involves conferences on health
                    planning alternatives which relates to pending legislation on health
                    planning and health resources development.  Project #57 - Hospital Quality
                    Assurance Project is being reviewed by HSA - Bureau,of Quality Assurance
                    for conformance to PSRO legislation.

                    As of July 15, 19"4, no additional CHP review and comments have been
                    submitted to DRMP.  -The application contains only two letters from CHP.
                    As additional CHP letters are submitted they will be reviewed by DR@IP
                    Staff.

                       The Review Committee considered the Iowa RMP continuation grant applica-
                       tion request of $1,061,349 and recommended approval as requested.
                       Reviewers continued to be impressed with the imaginative Coordinator,
                       strong Regional Advisory Group, good program staff, and a well administered
                       and managed Program.
                       On May 28, 1974, DRMP received favorable letters of support from the
                       Health Planning Council of the Midlands regarding project #'s 55 -
                       Homemaker - Home Health Aide Training and project #56                     11 Nurse
                       Practitioner for Use in Rural Iowa.
