Since the U.S.‐Chile FTA
went into effect in 2004, two‐way trade has surged to $20.3
billion in 2008, a 216 percent increase over pre‐FTA
levels. The U.S.‐Peru FTA, in force as of February 2009,
makes 80 percent of U.S. consumer and industrial products
eligible for duty‐free entry, with remaining tariffs phased‐out
over ten years. To help U.S. firms take advantage of
