U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, WRD New York District, Troy, NY WATER RESOURCES REVIEW AND CURRENT CONDITIONS STATEMENT FOR JUNE 2001 Prepared July 3, 2001 Troy Subdistrict--Summary Report Provisional streamflow conditions at sites monitored and included in this report in eastern New York were in the normal to excessive range. The percent of median flow increased from May to June at all these sites. The excessive conditions were reported at sites located in the mid to northern part of eastern New York. Ithaca Subdistrict--Summary Report Provisional streamflow conditions at sites monitored and included in this report for western New York were in the normal range throughout the western part of the state except for Chenango River near Chenango Forks, which increased from the deficient range during May into the excessive range for June in response to heavy rains in this basin on June 24, and Allegheny River at Salamanca, which remained in the deficient range for the second consecutive month. Streamflows at Susquehanna River at Conklin, Unadilla River at Rockdale, Chemung River at Chemung, Genesee River at Wellsville, Oatka Creek at Garbutt, and Fall Creek near Ithaca all increased into the normal range after being in the deficient range during May. Coram Subdistrict--Summary Report Mean flow at Connetquot Brook near Central Islip was in the normal range for the second consecutive month. ___________________________________________________________________________________________
