The Free Flow of Information Act, which was introduced by Congressmen Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Rick Boucher (D-VA), Mike Pence (R-IN) and John Conyers (D-MI), passed the U.S. House of Representatives late Tuesday night. This bipartisan legislation will empower members of the media to root out waste and fraud by protecting their confidential news sources.
“The freedom of the press is a right embodied in our Constitution and must be respected in order to protect and promote the free exchange of information in our society. This fundamental right is one that distinguishes America from many oppressive regimes in the world, and shows our commitment to seeking the truth.” Goodlatte said.
