This is a special 16 x 18 inch framed artwork commemorating 2009’s 40th Anniversary of Apollo 11 and the First Man on the Moon.
The artwork features an image of the Apollo spacecraft taking off from the launching pad next to a larger photograph of an astronaut and the American flag on the surface of the moon, with a commemorative section centered at bottom including:- the Apollo 11 mission insignia,
- two canceled stamps from the Space series, 1971’s 8–cent Earth, Sun and Landing Craft on Moon and Lunar Rover and Astronauts, sub-titled United States in Space… A Decade of Achievement,
- plus a reproduction of the historical plaque that still remains with the ladder of Apollo 11’s “Eagle” lunar module on the moon.
