Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files are now also available from the American Community Survey (ACS) as well as from decennial censuses.
The American Community Survey is a new nationwide survey that will replace the decennial census long form in future censuses and is a critical element in the Census Bureau’s reengineered 2010 census plan.
Questions about PUMS microdata from the ACS should be directed to staff from the American Community Survey.
