Overview

The Census Bureau Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) is responsible for evaluating the sufficiency of the Census Bureau program for equal employment opportunity. Through this office, the agency ensures implementation of its policy to provide equal opportunity in employment for all persons, to prohibit discrimination in employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age (40 and over), disability, sexual orientation, or retaliation for filing previous EEO complaints, and to promote the full realization or equal employment opportunity through a continuing affirmative program. The EEO Office will promptly address allegations of discrimination by:

  • Continually explaining patterns and new trends to managers and supervisors and encouraging their participation in reaching reasonable solutions

  • Creating opportunities for all parties to promptly resolve issues
