Federal Information
Processing Standards (FIPS) - many FIPS have been withdrawn, as
equivalent voluntary consensus standards exist. Currently, FIPS
focus on computer
security.
Environmental Data
Standards Council promotes the exchange of information among
States, Native American Tribes, and US EPA. This Web site provides the
authoritative information on Council actions, environmental data
standards, and related information.
Spatial Data Standard for
Facililties, Infrastructure, and the Environment - sponsored by the
Armed Forces and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This standard has
been approved as ANSI INCITS 353:2006 (refer to Select INCITS Standards
Projects)
Geospatial Intelligence Standards
Working Group - forum for the coordination of GEOINT standards for
the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG). The GWG is
led and chaired by the National Center for Geospatial Intelligence
Standards (NCGIS), National Geospatial Intelligency Agency (NGA).
The primary responsibilities of the GWG are to:
- coordinate population of the DoD IT Standards Registry (DISR) with GEOINT standards
- serve as the NSG community forum for all standardization activities and functions related to GEOINT.
