Water Resources Assessment of Oakland County

Michigan County Map
The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with Oakland County, is conducting a four-year assessment of the county's ground water and surface water resources. This project, which began March 15, 2001, will

1) compile data on the aquifers of Oakland County,
2) monitor the quality and quantity of the five major rivers in the county,
3) use state of the art remote sensing and field sampling techniques to learn about the county's 1,600 lakes, and
4) provide the county with up to date, accurate information for planning the county's future.
