NGPA Education Fund
The
National Gay Pilots Association created the NGPA Education Fund (NGPA-EF) in
1996 to provide educational assistance in the form of scholarships to students
pursuing aviation careers as professional pilots and who have demonstrated
community involvement, including support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual &
transgender (LGBT) community. Students must use the scholarship funds towards
advanced flight certificates/ratings or tuition at an accredited
college/university aviation program.
NGPA-EF
has awarded more than 33 awards totaling $93,000 since its inaugural grant in
1998. In 2008, four awards of $3,750 were made.
Do you aspire to be a professional pilot? Do you need financial assistance for advanced flight certificates/ratings or for tuition? This link will take you to the information that you will need to apply for an NGPA Education Fund scholarship.
Learn how
you can make a direct donation to the NGPA Education Fund, or include the Fund
in your planned giving. The key to the continuing success are the contributions
from our constituents. Many of us have had a helping hand in the pursuit of our
professional careers and here is an opportunity for you to do the same for
someone else.
The NGPA
Education Fund is an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Your donation to the
Fund may be tax deductible, be sure to check with your tax adviser. The NGPA
Education Fund is made up completely of volunteers, thus nearly 100% of the
donations go directly to the scholarship winners.
The men and women who have been our scholarship recipients in the past are an amazing and very talented group of people. They have already accomplished a great deal in their lives and we would like to introduce a few recent recipients to you.
