The National Cyber Security Division (NCSD) works collaboratively with public, private and international entities to protect and secure the nation’s cyber assets.  This broad mission gives the NCSD a pivotal role in providing cyber analysis, intrusion detection and warning, intrusion prevention, information sharing, vulnerability reduction, and incident response.

The NCSD works in coordination with public and private sectors to promote the security, resilience, and reliability of the nation’s cyber infrastructure.  Moreover, the NCSD coordinates public and private sector cyber preparedness activities and aids in the preparation for, response to and recovery from any catastrophic incidents that would degrade or overwhelm our national cyber systems.

Current Positions

To support the cybersecurity mission, NCSD is hiring individuals with general program management and information security experience. If you want to be part of the team that protects the nation’s cyber assets, the Department has the following current job announcements open in our National Cyber Security Division:

  • Program Manager GS-340-15 - The primary purpose of this Program Manager position is to develop the key policies and procedures that govern the planning and implementation of the Cyber Security Standards and Best Practices Program in the Department of Homeland Security.  These policies are designed to enhance the resiliency and restorability of the nation’s cyber and communications infrastructures, networks and systems against all hazards and threats.
  • Program Analyst GS-343-9/11/12 - The primary purpose of this Program Analyst position is to develop and implement policies and procedures designed to secure and enhance the resiliency and restorability of the nation's cyber and telecommunications infrastructures, networks, and systems against all hazards and threats.
  • IT Specialist GS-2210-13/14 - The primary purpose of this Senior Information Assurance Analyst (IT Specialist) position is working directly with federal, state, local, tribal, private and international organizations to ensure a secure cyberspace. As a senior member of the 24-7 Strategic Analysis Team, you will handle and respond to major cyber-incidents, conduct malware/ vulnerability analyses and issue threat watches and warnings to emerging cyber-threats or vulnerabilities.
  • IT Specialist GS-2210-9/11 with promotional potential to a GS-12 - The primary purpose of this IT Specialist position is to develop and implement policies and procedures designed to secure and enhance the resiliency and restorability of the nation's cyber and telecommunications infrastructures, networks, and systems against all hazards and threats.
