The American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) is the national membership organization of conservation professionals.

In response to a request by National Center for Technology and Training (NCPTT), the AIC polled its membership in May 1996 via a mail-survey to provide an updated and refined list of the most critical needs for research and training in the field of materials conservation.

This report contains information on the survey development, structure, results and data analysis.
