The National Weather Service in Elko will be providing Spotter Training with a focus on storm identification across northern and central Nevada this spring. The Spotter Training sessions result from a collaborative effort between our partners within the Emergency Management and Amateur Radio Communities throughout our six county warning area and the National Weather Service.
Each spotter training session will focus on thunderstorm formation and structure, tornadoes and tornado safety, lightning and lightning safety, flooding, what type of information to report along with the reporting procedures to the National Weather Service during the two hour presentation.
If you like to update your severe weather spotting skills, become a weather spotter or just have a keen interest in weather and would like to learn more, this free of charge spotter training session is for you.
