Can the images on this website be used in "my" brochure, publication, presentation, or program?

Yes. Except for the images that are copyrighted (as indicated on the image), the images on this site are in the public domain and may be used freely. We request that you credit the Volcano Hazards Team/USGS when one of our images is used. Please see the information from (http://www.usgs.gov/info_policies.html) for additional guidelines.

For the images that are in the public domain, are they available from the webmaster in a higher resolution?

We are working on a better process for making the images available as we update the VHP web site. If you would like a higher-resolution digital image, you can send email to the webmaster with information about the image you would like to receive. There is currently a backlog of requests.
