Over the past month, several changes have been made to the United States Mint H.I.P. Pocket ChangeT Web site, specifically with teachers in mind!  To help you learn about "What's New For You", explore some of the links that have been listed below.

Games

Branches of Power—H.I.P. Pocket Change has developed a fun new educational game!  Introduce students to some of the key people, places and aspects of the three branches of government.  When you become a secret agent, be sure to pay close attention to the realistic details of the map and some helpful clues!  Once you finish restoring the branches of power, you will be able to view the new John Marshall commemorative coin and you'll have the opportunity to tour our Nation's Capital.

Coin News

May's Coin of the Month—Join Peter the Mint Eagle as he teaches us about the new commemorative silver dollar.  The United States is honoring Chief Justice John Marshall with a commemorative coin in celebration of the 250th anniversary of his birth.  The Chief Justice John Marshall Silver Dollar not only pays tribute to the Supreme Court of the United States, but also recognizes the entire judicial branch of government.  This is the first time a United States coin (regular issue or commemorative) has featured a Supreme Court Justice.

State Quarter Day In The Classroom—Learn all about the launch of the Minnesota quarter, the 32nd quarter in the 50 State Quarters Program that took place in St. Paul on April 12th.  Examine all of the fun classroom activity ideas that H.I.P. Pocket Change has developed to help you celebrate the newest quarter and the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" in your own classroom!
