Commerce Deputy Secretary to Address Deputy
Secretary of Commerce Samuel W. Bodman will deliver opening remarks and
kick off two separate two-day discussion meetings to help the Bush
Administration
develop “Spectrum Policy for the 21st Century.” The public
safety forum and the policy
reform workshop, planned and arranged by the Commerce Department’s
National
Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) in
coordination with other
interested organizations, are designed to gather information from the
public that may be
used as a basis for legislative and other policy recommendations called
for by the
President’s Spectrum Policy Initiative Executive Memorandum. WHO:

remarks before a forum on public safety spectrum management The public safety forum will be hosted by NTIA, while the policy reform workshop is being convened by the National Academies and sponsored by NTIA. Discussions will be moderated by officials from NTIA and the Federal Communications Commission, among others.
