The National Park Service Civil War Defenses of Washington sites are open every day except January 1, Thanksgiving, and December 25. The hours of operation are from dawn to dusk. Please contact each park for more information.

Did You Know?
Built in 1861, Fort Stevens originally was named Fort Massachusetts. The fort was renamed Fort Stevens in 1863 after Isaac Ingalls Stevens. Stevens was the governor of the Washington Territory.
