Partnerships

Non-Governmental Organizations

The Biological Resources Discipline (BRD) works cooperatively with many non-governmental organizations to share data and information on plants, animals, and ecological communities. These partnerships support the BRD mission to work with others to provide the scientific understanding and technologies needed to support the sound management and conservation of our Nation's biological resources.

Private Sector

The Biological Resources Discipline (BRD) welcomes partnerships with industry and is working with many corporations to share information on biological resources. These partnerships support the BRD mission to work with others to provide the scientific understanding and technologies needed to support the sound management and conservation of our Nation's biological resources.

Museums

This Nation's museums hold enormous amounts of information on current and historic biological conditions. Unfortunately, much of this information is not readily accessible. The Biological Resources Discipline (BRD) is undertaking an initiative to increase communication and collaboration among Federal agencies and the museum community. These partnerships support the BRD mission to work with others to provide the scientific understanding and technologies needed to support the sound management and conservation of our Nation's biological resources.

Federal

The Biological Resources Discipline (BRD) is working cooperatively with Federal agencies to share biological data and information. These partnerships support the BRD mission to work with others to provide the scientific understanding and technologies needed to support the sound management and conservation of our Nation's biological resources.

International

The Biological Resources Discipline (BRD) is developing partnerships in three key areas with countries around the globe: (1) obtaining, managing, and sharing biological data and information; (2) developing and standardizing methodologies for biological inventory, monitoring, and research; and (3) offering training and technical assistance to facilitate scientific exchange. Emphasis is on collaboration with nations that share biological resources, have similar ecosystems, or are addressing conservation issues of importance to the United States. These partnerships support the BRD mission to work with others to provide the scientific understanding and technologies needed to support the sound management and conservation of our Nation's biological resources.
