NCPTT partnered with the Association for Preservation Technology International to plan and present a workshop on Nondestructive Evaluation Methods for Historic Structures that was held May 16-17 in Charleston, S.C.

Kirk Cordell and Andy Ferrell participated in planning for “Preserving Coastal Forts: An NPS Workshop” that is scheduled April 8-10, 2008, in Charleston, South Carolina.

On April 16-20, Kirk Cordell and Mary Striegel of NCPTT attended the 35th annual meeting of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works as an NPS representative and AIC board member.

NCPTT’s Executive Director attended the Preserve America awards ceremony at the White House on May 9.

NCPTT sponsored the colloquium “Wind, Flood and Heritage Recovery” as part of the APTI pre-conference activities.

Kirk Cordell, NCPTT executive director, joined representatives from The History Channel and the Department of Transportation in co-chairing the first Expert Panel under the Preserve America Summit.

On April 28th NCPTT hosted Laura Hudson, the former Chief Legislative Aide to Senator J. Bennett Johnston.

NCPTT’s Executive Director Kirk Cordell and IT Manager Lance Ellis attended GSA’s Department of Interior-specific training for the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) in late February, 2006.

NCPTT hosted a two-day symposium sponsored by the Cane River Creole National Historical Park in celebration of Black History month on February 15-16, 2006.
