Mississippi State University has some exciting news- the Second Annual Natural Resources Graduate Student Symposium is scheduled for February 2009! Our workshops, speakers, job fair, and even our social are new and improved thanks to feedback from last year’s inaugural participants. We guarantee that you will not be disappointed with the knowledge, job prospects, presentation experience, and contacts that you will make at this student-focused conference. We are offering travel awards for those who may need assistance in getting here.

The TTU Student Fisheries Association and the SDAFS Student Affair Committee are requesting proposals to host the 2009 SDAFS Student Colloquium. Application Deadline January 2. Guidelines and Application.
The SDAFS election results are final and certified. The winners are:

The SDAFS Procedural Manual has recently been revised. Click here to view or download the updated version. The revisions were approved at the Spring Meeting in Memphis.
The Resolutions Committee has developed two new resolutions for member consideration. Click here to review resolutions concerning the Southeast Aquatic Resources Partnership (SARP) and Instream Flow Programs.
The January 2007 Directory of Hatcheries located within the Southern Division has been developed by the Aquaculture Technical Committee.
The Southern Division took a leading role in relief efforts for AFS members in the Gulf Coast region impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. A Disaster Relief Home Page has been developed to bring together those affected and those looking to help.
The Aquaculture Committee has developed a draft BMP Plan for fish hatcheries to address new NPDES rules promulgated by the USEPA. Click here to download it now.
