Visiting Hours:

Public access hours for visitors are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Central Time), Monday through Friday. EROS is closed on Federal holidays and weekends.

View a large format camera that was actually in space, a half-scale model of the Landsat 7 satellite, and satellite imagery from around the world. Directions:

From Interstate 90:

Take exit 402, 10 miles north on Minnehaha County Road 121 (478th Avenue), and one mile east on road 252nd Street.

From Interstate 29:

Take exit 94, 6 miles east on road 250th Street, two miles south on Minnehaha County Road 121 (478th Avenue), and one mile east on road 252nd Street.

Security Notice:

Please be advised that all visitors, vehicles and persons are subject to be searched by authorized security officials. Each visitor age 18 or older will be required to present some type of valid government-issued photo identification (federal, state, or local) for access. Example of authorized identification: drivers license or passport. All visitors are required to go through security before being granted access to the Center. To help make the passage through security as efficient and comfortable as possible, only bring in items that are necessary. Cameras and video recorders are authorized inside facility with some restrictions that will be identified at the time of the visit. Taking pictures outside Center is not authorized without prior permission. No person may bring dogs or other animals on Federal property for other than official purposes. However, a disabled person may bring a seeing-eye dog, a guide dog, or other animal assisting or being trained to assist that individual.
