Balancing family, personal and work life is important to all of us.
So the United States Mint provides a working environment and benefits
that may make this part of your life a little easier.
Through our contractors you can obtain free, customized information on
a wide range of concerns, such as: stress and time management; prenatal
health; adult and childcare; summer camps; pet services; college guidance;
educational funding; and retirement planning. Just email or phone your
question to a panel of experts, and you'll get personal guidance.
Child Care related services offered by
the United States Mint include TLC (Tuition for Licensed Care), which provides
financial assistance for licensed childcare to qualifying employees.
Nursing Room, a quiet room with a locking
refrigerator and comfortable chairs, is provided in our Washington, D.C.
headquarters to help nursing mothers make the transition back to work.
Family & Personal Leave Programs can
provide Family/Medical leave to employees to care for newborns, adopted
children and other family members under covered circumstances.
Holidays & Vacation Time accrue
according to the length of your service. They can add up to 10 paid holidays
per calendar year, plus paid vacation which can range from 13 to 26 days per
year, for full-time employees, depending on how long you've worked for the
Federal Government.
Sick Leave also depends upon length of
service, but can add up to 13 paid sick days per year.
Flexible Work Schedules may offer
options to deal with today's family and work needs. Eligible employees can
take advantage of flextime, or compressed work schedules with their
supervisor's approval.
Telecommuting, with the approval of a
supervisor, can offer employees the opportunity to perform their duties at
alternative work sites, which may include an employee's home, or another
United States Mint facility.
Transportation Subsidy Cards and Tokens
are available to employees who come to work via public transportation.
Casual Dress policies currently allow
employees to dress in appropriate comfortable clothes every day in the summer
and during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, as well as every
Friday throughout the year.
