  • iWon.com Team Challenge benefits Wounded Warrior Project

    The iWon.com Wounded Warrior Project Team - Code Name: "Wounded Warriors" - was created by a disabled mom suffering from Lupus.  Judy Moyer-Spencer has three children, two that are currently in the military. The team has an active and passionate membership, many are veterans or families of wounded warriors.  In the first four months of the IWON Team Challenge program’s launch,  the WWP team took first place in the User-Generated category (from Sept. – Dec. ), earning $10,000 each time.  In January and February of 2009, the WWP team won second place, earning $2,000 each time.

  • New WWP director began veterans advocacy in school
    Steven Nardizzi's passion for helping wounded veterans began as a temporary job to help him afford night classes at law school. Fifteen years later, he says, it is the longest temporary job he's held, but his passion still burns brightly.

    He is the new executive director of the Jacksonville-based national Wounded Warrior Project, a private, nonprofit dedicated to help those who have given of their bodies, minds and spirits for the country's freedom.

  • Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Appoints New CEO

    Jacksonville, FL (March 5, 2009) - Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) announced today the naming of Steven Nardizzi as Chief Executive Officer of the organization, a non-profit whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Nardizzi is the successor to WWP Founder John Melia who will remain affiliated and involved with the organization.

  • Project Odyssey Aims to Teach Coping Skills for Combating Post-Traumatic Stress
    -Together with the Wildcatter Ranch, warriors to utilize natural surroundings to find peace, rediscover trust and start their personal journey to heal-

    Jacksonville, FL (February 12, 2009)- Wounded Warrior Project and the Wildcatter Ranch announced today that they will host 16 wounded warriors as part of WWP’s Project Odyssey program to combat post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Project Odyssey brings together veterans with PTSD and readjustment challenges for activities that offer healthy support in the healing process.

American Veterans with Brain Injuries (AVBI) is a grassroots effort, whose mission is to offer support to brain injured American Veterans and their families or caregivers. They offer support through their web site, on line forum, live chat, advocacy, and public awareness. This web site offers personal stories, resources, and announcements of services available to these American Veterans. The AVBI on line forum is designed for questions to be asked and information shared. The AVBI live chat and peer advocacy offers personal support. The AVBI Blog hopes to bring public awareness to the many difficult issues that plague the brain injured veteran and their families.
