Mission Statement

Safe Harbor is the Navy's lead organization for coordinating the non-medical care of wounded, ill, and injured Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, and their families. Through proactive leadership, we provide a lifetime of individually tailored assistance designed to optimize the success of our Shipmates' recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration activities.

Program Overview

- Non-medical Care Managers assigned to all major Navy Military Treatment Facilities, VA Polytrauma Centers, and Brooke Army Medical Center.

- Non-medical care management tailored to support SWII Sailors: pay/personnel issues, invitational travel orders, lodging and housing adaptation, child and youth programs, transportation needs, legal and guardianship issues, education and training benefits, commissary and exchange access, respite care, TBI/PTSD support services, and much more.

- Transition support to VA and other continuing care support.

- Sailors enrolled for "life."

Eligibility

All severely wounded, ill, and injured Sailors and their families:

- OEF/OIF Casualties

- Shipboard Accidents

- Liberty Accidents

- Serious Illnesses - physical or psychological
