The eighth annual Preservation in Your Community event was held July 31 at Lee H. Nelson Hall, Natchitoches, La.
On Aug. 9, NCPTT, Cane River Creole National Historical Park and Cane River National Heritage Area hosted the seventh annual Preservation In Your Community event at Nelson Hall in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
The Cane River National Heritage Area awarded $175,000 in 2001 to 12 programs and individuals for research, development and historic preservation projects. Among these, the American Cemetery Association was awarded a $35,000 grant to restore the American Cemetery located in the National Historic Landmark District of Natchitoches, Louisiana.
On Aug. 3, NCPTT hosted “Preservation in Your Community,” a public event held annually to showcase preservation research and activities being undertaken by local National Park Service organizations.
The sixth annual Preservation in Your Community event at NCPTT’s headquarters in Louisiana will be held on Aug. 3, 2006.
