As the official source of Department of Defense Quality of Life (QoL) information, MilitaryHOMEFRONT's primary focus is on providing QoL policy information to Leadership and Service Providers and providing the necessary "first step" resources to point Troops and Families in the right direction to receive more detailed information and assistance. The following tools are offered to further enhance your MilitaryHOMEFRONT experience.
1. Gadgets
Gadgets allow you to create and personalize your own web portal page, by adding quick access to information that is important to you. We have created the following gadgets to allow one click access to the latest MHF highlights and headlines and installation information. The MilitaryHOMEFRONT Gadget and the MilitaryINSTALLATIONS Gadget are currently compatible with Google's portal, iGoogle. By adding these gadgets to your iGoogle homepage, you will see the latest official QoL information each time you visit your portal page.

2. MilitaryHOMEFRONT Toolbar
We are providing this toolbar in order to increase ease-of-use options to our users. Use of this toolbar will add functionality to your browser by providing direct and convenient access to our most frequently used and requested applications. In order to use the MilitaryHOMEFRONT (MHF) toolbar, you will need to install two root certificates into your Internet Explorer browser. You must complete all three steps below in order to successfully install the toolbar.
Please note the MHF tool bar will not install on Department of Defense/Service computers, requiring you to request permission from your Service's Help Desk.

3. MilitaryHOMEFRONT Browser Search Integration
Instead of returning just the first ten results of hundreds or thousands on the search results page, our search engine organizes search results visually and by clusters to give users the big picture. At a glance, you can see the entire range of search results organized for easy drill-down and navigation, allowing you to quickly eliminate irrelevant information.

4. MilitaryHOMEFRONT Integrated Links Toolbar
You can use the Links toolbar in Internet Explorer for shortcuts to Web sites that you visit frequently by customizing it to meet your needs.

5. Mobile Access
With information on over 250 military installations and communities worldwide, you can now access MilitaryINSTALLATIONS (MI) on the go from your mobile device. The mobile MI supports BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Treo/Palm and a variety of other phones.
