High Speed Connectivity Consortium, Inc., Pittsburgh, Penn., is being awarded a $11,000,000 ($5,000,000, Government Portion; $6,000,000, Contractor Portion) cooperative-agreement contract to provide for research and development in support of the Next Generation Internet Program. This effort includes development and demonstration of a multi-gigabit testbed using end-to-end fiber connections with potential expansion to a national network. Raytheon Systems Company, Los Angeles, Calif., is being awarded a $11,837,135 ($8,420,000, Government Portion; $3,417,135, Contractor Portion) cooperative-agreement contract to provide for the Advanced Technology Modular Receiver Program. This program will develop and demonstrate a four channel high-performance multimode radar receiver system for use on various aircraft and space platforms. This was a Broad Agency Announcement, there were 120 proposals received. Expected contract completion date is Jan. 16, 2002. Solicitation issue date was July 22, 1997. Trawick Contractors Inc.*, Birmingham, Ala., is being awarded a $13,131,704 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of whole neighborhood revitalization. The project consists of remodeling 30 quadruplex buildings (120 family housing living units) built in 1934. The restoration of the buildings has the approval of the Georgia State Historical Preservation Office and will be constructed accordingly to meet new construction standards. Work will be performed at Fort Benning, Ga., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
