Event: BISNIS Hosts Azerbaijani Minister of Communications & Information Technologies and IT Delegation
Description: BISNIS in cooperation with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and the U.S. - Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce hosted Dr. Ali Abbasov, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a delegation including Azerbaijani public officials and private sector executives. The purpose of this U.S. visit is to provide the delegates with opportunities to further their understanding of how the U.S. ICT regulatory environment and high-technologies and equipment could be integrated in the Azerbaijani environment to help develop and strengthen the ICT sector in a time of rapid economic growth. The event offered a direct access to Azerbaijan's top IT/Telecom decision maker and represented an effective forum for private - public sector discussion and fine-tuning of goals and objectives. Over 50 U.S. companies of all sizes attended the briefing and asked specific questions on licensing, the business environment, IT legislation, and procurement needs in Azerbaijan.
