  Purpose

Research study of the importance of vitamin B6 status on metabolic processes essential for human health.

Primary Outcome Measures:
  • No direct subject benefit; study is to gain information relevant to health. The results of this study will be beneficial to the population as a whole, and this benefit outweighs the low risks. [ Time Frame: One year ] [ Designated as safety issue: No ]

Intervention Details:
    Drug: Methionine, Leucine and low B6 diet.
    I.v. dosage depending upon study subject weight.

Ages Eligible for Study:   20 Years to 40 Years
Genders Eligible for Study:   Both
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:   Yes
Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

  • 20-40 years of age
  • adequate vitamin B6 levels
  • not pregnant

Exclusion Criteria:

  • abnormal labs
  • pregnancy
  • on medications
