HIV/AIDS

Research has enabled many men and women, and young people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the virus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), to lead fuller, more productive lives. As with other serious illnesses such as cancer, heart disease or stroke, however, HIV and AIDS often can be accompanied by depression, an illness that can affect mind, body and behavior. CMHS develops program models that provide mental health services to individuals, families, and others living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
