February Monthly Steel Fact Sheet
The preliminary data released today show that overall steel imports in February 2008 decreased 8 percent from January 2008. The change in February’s total amount of steel imports was due to an decrease in some goods, including galvanized sheets and strip (-24%) and oil country goods (-31%). There was an increase in most stainless products except stainless pipe and tube (-20.5%). February 2008 imports of steel mill products were down 8 percent compared to February 2007.
