Rising Opportunities: 1st Conference on Solar PV in NMS and CIS Countries
May 29, 2009
- Munich, Germany
Rising Opportunities will be held within the program of Intersolar 2009, the world's largest trade fair for solar technology. Rising Opportunities will gather current and prospective players in solar photovoltaics in the EU New Member States (NMS), Greece, Turkey, Russia, and the other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and in the rest of the world to explore possibilities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Rising Opportunities aims to explore whether the new emerging markets can compensate the gap in the Spanish solar PV market. It will feature the three sessions below, followed by interactive panel discussions with leading academicians, analysts, experts, researchers, and industry leaders.
- First market session: Experts will analyze the status of Solar PV market in NMS and will discuss how the solar PV boom in the Czech Republic can be followed by other NMS.
- Second market session: Will cover the four promising, fast-growing South-East European solar PV markets with excellent irradiation levels, namely, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, and Turkey. Experts will look into what should be done to fully use their potential to reach the challenging goal of more than 1 GW solar PV market yearly by 2012 for these countries.
- Industry and R&D session: Will focus on Russia and other CIS countries, with experts addressing the issue of whether and how the solar PV industry in these countries could become an important player in the global industry.
