Dallas Peck Outstanding Scientist Emeritus Award

Dallas Peck Outstanding Scientist Emeritus Award is a Geology Discipline award that recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of a scientist while working under a Geology Scientist Emeritus agreement. A Scientist Emeritus can only receive the Peck award once.
Criteria for selection:
- Senior authorship of a major publication or outreach product
- Accomplishment of a particularly difficult or important assignment in a manner that reflects favorably on the Geologic Discipline and Bureau
- Innovations of significance which further Bureau programs
- Development of a new procedure or process that results in substantially increased productivity, efficiency or economy of operation
- Mentorship of young scientists
- Other service to the broader scientific community
Excelling in any one of these categories is sufficient to be considered for the award.
Selection:
Nominations are reviewed by a panel that consists of three Science Center Directors, three Scientists Emeriti, one Program Coordinator, and the Scientist Emeritus awards coordinator.
