LSC Board Meets in Portland, Oregon

LSC's Board of Directors met in Portland, Ore., on April 24 and 25. The meeting included a visit to the Portland office of Legal Aid Services of Oregon, a luncheon reception featuring remarks by the State Bar President and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, a pro bono awards ceremony, and meetings of all five Board committees.

President Recommends $435 Million Budget for LSC

The Legal Services Corporation would receive $435 million in Fiscal Year 2010 under the budget sent to Congress by the Obama Administration today, an increase of $45 million. Most of the proposed budget, $410.4 million, would provide for the delivery of civil legal services to low-income individuals and families across the nation.
