Sample Submittal Procedure

Be sure sample ID’s are clearly identified on samples before beginning

Fill out login form (available for download to the right on this page) with a minimum of: submitter information, analysis requested (Must be English language), Field Id, Sample Type, Lat/Long Qualifier, Lat/Long, and units. All other information should be filled out but will not affect login.

You cannot add items into drop down list. If a drop down list is available you must use exact naming conventions in list.

Naming convention for file should be last name, underscore, and a unique identifier    (Example: mccord_Fl45)

Send login excel sheet to energylabs@usgs.gov

Attach file name to samples via 8.5 x 11 piece of paper in sample shipping container

If you are located on the DFC you can bring samples to Bldg. 20 room G1111 login or outside room A1115 login area. Put in proper location designated for sample submittal.

Once samples arrive they will be matched up with login excel sheet and checked against excel sheet for accuracy

Samples will then be logged into LIMS

Confirmation of login will follow and be sent to submitter via email

The submitter must verify all information is correct. If it is not send email to energylabs@usgs.gov with a detailed description of what is wrong.
