Geologic Mapping in Progress

Thin bar separator

The "Geologic Mapping in Progress" database lists areas that are now being mapped, and describes who to contact for more information. This database is a component of the National Geologic Map Database, and provides information about mapping by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), State geological surveys, and academia under the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program.
PLEASE NOTE: this database and site are undergoing extensive revision -- as a result, temporarily, we can only provide access to the maps that were assigned to be mapped in 2007. We will update this site soon, to be much more comprehensive and easy to use. Thank you for your patience.
