    The World - Pacific View

PIERC science is conducted from Hawaii west and south across most of the Pacific Ocean from Hawaii. We work on many of the islands of the Trust Territories of Polynesia and Micronesia. This geographic area spans 6 time zones, both sides of the equator, and is more than twice the size of the contiguous 48 U.S. states. This reality adds logistical challenges to our research programs.
