Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action

Los Alamos National Laboratory is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer. Consistent with federal contractual requirements, the Laboratory develops and implements formally documented Affirmative Action Programs (AAPs) for women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and covered veterans. Part of these programs also include division and directorate development of Action Oriented Plans (AOPs) to address underutilization issues. The Laboratory rewards Affirmative Action efforts through its All-Aboard Award program.

The goal of the Laboratory’s AAP is equal employment opportunity for all persons. While the Laboratory monitors personnel decisions and compensation systems to evaluate potential impacts on individuals within protected classes, Affirmative Action does not require or permit preferential treatment or compromising job related qualifications or standards for purposes of meeting numerical or percentage goals.

Creating equal opportunities also requires the creation and maintenance of a mutually respectful working environment. When employees have conflicts within or concerns about their working environment, the Laboratory offers several resolution resources. Employees can use any of these services without fear of retaliation for bringing forth their concerns.

Operated by Los Alamos National Security, LLC for the U.S. Department of Energy's NNSA
