Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Robert Magnus has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commandant for programs and resources, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C. Magnus is currently serving as assistant deputy commandant for plans, policies and operations/QDR, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.
Marine Corps Reserve Maj. Gen. Dennis M. McCarthy has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as commander, Marine Forces Reserve, New Orleans, La. McCarthy is currently serving as director, Reserve Affairs, Quantico, Va.
Navy Rear Adm. John B. Totushek has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral while serving as chief of Naval Reserve, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
