The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

 

            Staff Sgt. Sean D. Diamond, 41, of Dublin, Calif., died Feb. 15 in As Salam, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 610^th Engineer Support Company, 14^th Engineer Battalion, 555^th Engineer Brigade, Fort Lewis, Wash.
