IMMEDIATE RELEASE No. 568-05
June 08, 2005

National Guard and Reserve Mobilized as of June 8, 2005

This week, the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard announced a decrease in the number of reservists on active duty in support of the partial mobilization, while the Air Force number increased. The net collective result is 15,333 fewer reservists mobilized than last week.

At any given time, services may mobilize some units and individuals while demobilizing others, making it possible for these figures to either increase or decrease. Total number currently on active duty in support of the partial mobilization for the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is 129,522, which is 14,779 fewer than last week because many of these units reached the end of their 18-month mobilization; Naval Reserve, 3,353; Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, 9,709; Marine Corps Reserve, 9,922; and the Coast Guard Reserve, 586. This brings the total National Guard and Reserve personnel, who have been mobilized, to 153,092, including both units and individual augmentees.

A cumulative roster of all National Guard and Reserve personnel, who are currently mobilized, can be found at http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Jun2005/d20050608ngr1.pdf.
