The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Master Sgt. Anthony Davis, 43, of Deerfield, Fla., died Nov. 25 in Baaj, Iraq, after being shot by an Iraqi Security Force soldier while he was conducting a dismounted humanitarian food drop. He was assigned to the Military Transition Team, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
