Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Air Force Lt. Gen. Victor E. Renuart Jr. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as assistant director, Strategic Plans and Policy, J-5, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. Renuart is currently serving as vice commander, Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

Air Force Maj. Gen. David A. Deptula has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as vice commander, Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. Deptula is currently serving as director, Air and Space Operations, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

Air Force Maj. Gen. John L. Hudson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Aeronautical Systems Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Hudson is currently serving as assistant deputy under secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs, Office of the Under Secretary of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
