Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president made the following nominations:

Marine Corps Lieutenant General Henry P. Osman, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as the deputy commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs. Osman is currently serving as the commanding general, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Marine Corps Major General James F. Amos, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as the commanding general, II Marine Expeditionary Force. Amos is currently serving as the commanding general, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing in Iraq.
