Flag Officer Announcements

Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

 

Navy Capt. Clinton F. Faison III has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).  Faison is currently serving as commanding officer, Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

 

Navy Capt. Katherine L. Gregory has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).  Gregory is currently serving as chief of staff, First Naval Construction Division, Norfolk, Va.

 

Navy Capt. Kurt L. Kunkel has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).  Kunkel is currently serving as chief, Strategy Division, J4, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

 

Navy Capt. Kevin R. Slates has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).  Slates is currently serving as chief of staff, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Washington, D.C.

 

Navy Capt. Mark L. Tidd has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).  Tidd is currently serving as command chaplain, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany.

 

Navy Capt. Eleanor V. Valentin has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).  Valentin is currently serving as chief of staff, National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md.

               

Navy Capt. Jonathan A. Yuen has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half).  Yuen is currently serving as deputy commander/chief of staff, Joint Contracting Command Iraq/Afghanistan in Iraq.
