GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Dennis D. Cavin for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general for initial entry training and commanding general, U.S. Army Accessions Command, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. Cavin is currently serving as the commanding general, U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Fort Knox, Ky.
