The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. Kenneth J. Schall, 22, of Peoria, Ariz., died May 22, in Yusafiyah, Iraq, when the HMMWV in which he was riding was involved in an accident. Schall was assigned to the 2^nd Battalion, 70^th Armor Regiment, 3^rd Brigade, 1^st Armored Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
